DeepSeek-V3.1 is post-trained on DeepSeek-V3.1-Base. The base model is built from the original V3 checkpoint via a two-stage long-context extension approach following the methods outlined in the original DeepSeek-V3 paper. The dataset is expanded by collecting additional long documents and significantly scaling up both training stages.
